Credited with the development of India's first Diagnostic Quality ECG on 'all' affordable Mobile Phones, He has been a speaker at several prestigious platforms inc FICCI and TED. He has been awarded by MSME, DSIR and by DBT, Govt of India to develop diagnostic quality medical devices. With numerous research papers and patents under his belt, he also serves as the CEO of Cardea Labs which produces highly trained Biomedical Engineers through hands-on training provided by experts who secure seats in Tier I Universities in US, UK and Germany for their higher education.

Short description about the demo: miBEAT is an educational tool which enables Engineering Students to quickly learn and implement all the necessary concepts required to design their own wireless and portable high definition, medical-grade data acquisition system over smart phones and PCs. miBEAT comes with a CE certification and is clinically validated in research labs and research institutions which helps students gain the confidence to develop a ‘medical device’ device without any dependencies on expensive data acquisition boards and their respective software.  This open source, open hardware, Innovative Biomedical Research platform namely miBEAT ( has been developed in association with Professors and Doctors from Harvard University, Stanford University, DSIR - Govt of India, Dept of Biotechnology - Govt of India, IIT Delhi and AIIMS - New Delhi and has been perfected over a span of 8 years. This technology has been awarded as the 'ICT Product of the Year 2016' at an international conference organized by ASSOCHAM.

Title of Demo - Interactive Intelligent Shopping Cart Using RFID and Zigbee Modules

Short description about the demo: When a customer goes to a mall or a shopping complex they have to worry about a lot of stuff. For example, sometimes the consumer is concerned about the total amount of money they had with them is enough or not, about which they come to know at the cash counter while paying. So they need to calculate all the time in mind the total amount while shopping which creates troublesomeness for customers. Waiting in the queue creates a big problem or inconvenience in the malls or shopping complex, especially on holidays or during the seasons of big sales. This is because the billing process is done using a bar code scanner at the billing counter which is a very timely process. Other problems in malls that a customer does not know about the information about the available offers, sales and discount provided on that day of shopping. Considering all the above problems we designed a system to help customers for purchasing items in a shopping mall. In this system, various algorithms are developed for displaying all the offers of the day and for comparing the chosen products with the similar products in terms of price per unit. In this system, we chose RFID technology for product identification over bar code reader.




Call for Demos

The Demonstrations Track is an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to present their innovative prototypes, practical developments, on-going projects, lessons learned and late-breaking results, relevant for the topics of interest of the main conference -

Submissions from both industry and universities are encouraged. The authors must demonstrate their system during the demo sessions. All demonstration submissions must be within SIX pages in the standard IEEE proceedings style. The IEEE templates in Microsoft Word (US Letter) and LaTeX format can be found at :

Each demo submission must make clear which aspects of the system will be demonstrated, and how.

All demonstration submissions should:

-- Motivate the demonstrated concepts

-- Describe the system and the technology

-- Explain what features and scenarios will be demonstrated, and

-- State the significance of the contribution.

Submissions should be made via EDAS conference management system ( All submissions must be written in English. A full list of authors with complete affiliations should be included. Power and wireless Internet connectivity will be available at the venue. A Best Demo Award will be granted by ICACCI'16, based on innovation and technical contribution.

At least one author of each accepted demo is required to register (attendee/listener category)  and present their demo at the conference. All submissions will undergo a rigorous review process. The extended abstracts of accepted demonstrations will be included in the proceedings of ICACCI-2016.
