Special Session on Biomedical Imaging and Instrumentation in Healthcare

This session aims to summarize the latest developments in the domain of Biomedical Signal Processing, Sensing, Imaging, Instrumentation and its prospective applications in healthcare. It focuses on key issues in terms of concepts, research, standards, implementations, running experiments and applications for diagnosis and treatment. This interdisciplinary domain assimilates several disciplines of electrical, instrumentation and computer engineering to solve problems of critical importance in clinical medicine and healthcare.

The sphere of Bio-medical signal and image processing emphasizes on the advancements in various modalities like X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI as well as ECG/EEG/EMG towards diagnosis of life-threatening diseases. Other topics of interest in the same sphere include Acoustic & Stereo Imaging, Diffusion-Weighted Imaging, Functional, Cellular, & Molecular Imaging, Microwave Imaging and Neutron Imaging. Another sphere in this very session includes Biosensors (Micro and Nano) and their role in health monitoring, telemedicine and ubiquitous computing. In addition, it also deals with measurements in Clinical Medicine, Intelligent & Virtual Instrumentations as well as health information systems for therapy and diagnosis.

All papers that conform to submission guidelines will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical and/or research content/depth, correctness, relevance to conference, contributions, and readability. The manuscripts should be submitted in PDF format. Acceptance of papers will be communicated to authors by email. At least one full paying author of each accepted paper must register for the conference before the indicated deadline. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
