Special Session on Internet of Smart objects: Computing, Communication and Management

The concept of the Internet of Smart objects (IoS) is to connect anything, anytime and anywhere with an Internet-like structure. IoS primarily focuses on computing and communication technologies dealing with all intelligent devices such as home appliances, cars, vending machines, industrial instruments, and data collecting sensors, are connected together to provide service without human intervention. IoS technologies support the interconnection of highly heterogeneous networked entities and networks following a number of communication patterns such as: human-to-human, human-to-object, object-to-object, or object-to-networks. Various applications and services of IoS have been emerging in different scenarios such as surveillance, health care, security, transport, and so on. The future of IoS is indeed promising but challenging. The Special Session on  Internet of Smart objects: Computing, Communication and Management intends to bring together researchers and practitioners from relevant fields to present and disseminate ongoing research in computing, communication and management models, protocols, algorithms and devices that can be implemented in the Internet of intelligent devices so as to bridge gaps between the IoS and UbiComp. 

The Session organizers invite original and unpublished work from individuals active in the broad theme of the Workshop. Authors should submit their papers online using EDAS.   • Interconnection between IP and sensor networks /RFID and sensor networks
  • Integration of future Internet paradigms such as ICN
  • Resource management protocols and algorithms
  • Energy efficiency in smart object networking scenarios
  • IoS management and interoperability
  • Data management in IoS 
  • Performance measurement and scalability
  • Simulation and analytical studies
  • Testbed, prototype, and practical systems
  • Lightweight and low energy cryptosystems for secure computing
  • Trust and governance models for the IoS
  • Risk management models for security in IoS

All papers that conform to submission guidelines will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical and/or research content/depth, correctness, relevance to conference, contributions, and readability. The manuscripts should be submitted in PDF format. Acceptance of papers will be communicated to authors by email. At least one full paying author of each accepted paper must register for the Conference before the indicated deadline. The accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. Independently of the presentation type, all papers are included in the proceedings.
