International Workshop on Algorithms for Computational Biology (ACB-2014)

Computational biology is a general approach toward the solution of scientific problems through which advanced computational techniques are used to discover the hidden order in complex data sets and to decipher the languages of biology. The first International Workshop on Algorithms for Computational Biology (ACB-2014) intends to be an effective forum for the exchange of ideas and for the discussion of current research issues and future trends. It will bring together academic scientists, researchers and scholars in the domain of interest from around the world. ACB-2014 is affiliated with Third International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communications and Informatics (ICACCI-2014).

Prospective authors are invited to submit original technical papers for presentation at the conference and publication in the proceedings.  Submitted papers should report on original research work that falls within the scope of the workshop. Authors should submit their papers online via EDAS. Unregistered authors should first create an account on EDAS to log on. Further guidelines for submission are posted at:

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Cloud-enabled solutions for Computational Biology
  • Computational Gene Hunting
  • Computational Genomics and Meta-genomics
  • Computational Proteomics and Meta-proteomics
  • DNA Arrays
  • Functional and Comparative Genomics
  • Gene and Signal Recognition
  • Genome Rearrangements
  • Image Analysis
  • Machine Learning
  • Molecular Pathways and Network
  • Multiple Sequence Alignment
  • Next-Generation Sequencing
  • Pairwise Sequence Alignment
  • Parallel Algorithms for Biological Sequence Analysis

All submissions will be thoroughly peer-reviewed by experts in the field based on originality, significance and clarity, only papers presenting novel research results or successful innovative applications are considered for publication. The accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. Independently of the presentation type, all papers are included in the proceedings.
